The ingredients needed to make Pepper Prawn Curry | Prawns Masala | Eral Thokku:
  1. Take 500 gms gross /250-300 gms net Prawns, medium sized (cleaned and deveined)
  2. Get 2 Onions, finely chopped small
  3. Take 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  4. You need 2 small tomatoes, finely chopped
  5. Prepare 2 Green chillies, slit & cut
  6. You need 34 tsp Salt or to taste
  7. Use 14 tsp Turmeric powder
  8. Get 2 tsp Red Chilli powder or less as per taste
  9. You need 14 tsp Coriander powder
  10. Prepare 12 tsp Black Pepper powder
  11. Use 12 tsp Garam masala powder
  12. Get 1 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
  13. Get 2 tbsp Oil
Steps to make Pepper Prawn Curry | Prawns Masala | Eral Thokku:
  1. Shell, devein and wash the prawns. Let the water drain from the prawns.
  2. Chop the onions and the tomatoes, slit and cut the green chillies.
  3. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a kadhai and add the chopped onions.
  4. Add the ginger-garlic paste. Mix and fry for around 2 mins till raw smell is gone.
  5. Fry on medium to low heat till translucent (around 8-10 mins) and then add the green chillies.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes, mix and add the salt. Cook for around 5 mins till tomatoes are soft.
  7. Add turmeric powder, Garam Masala powder, Redchilli powder, Coriander powder
  8. Mix and add 12 cup of water. Gravy on medium for around 2-3 mins till the masala's are cooked.
  9. Now add the prawns and mix well. Fry for around 5 mins on medium heat.
  10. Add the water, let it come to a boil, lower the heat to low and cover & cook for around 10 mins.
  11. Now add the black pepper powder, mix & sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Serve hot with roti or rice or idli or dosa
