Just about every single article you read about improving your health or weight loss is going to tell you to ignore the drive through and cook all of your meals instead. This is actually excellent advice. Occasionally, though, the last thing you want is to have to make a meal from scratch. Sometimes almost all you want is to go to the drive through and get home quickly. Why shouldn’t you be capable of do this from time to time and not have a bunch of guilt about slipping up on your diet regime? You can do this because lots of the popular joints are now advertising “healthy” menu alternatives to keep their businesses up. Here is how you can eat healthfully when you reach the drive through.

Select water, juice or milk as a drink. Drinking a large soda allows hundreds of empty unhealthy calories into your diet. Usually a single portion of soda should be eight ounces big. That serving usually includes at the very least a hundred calories and more than a few tablespoons of sugar. Most fast food soft drinks are a minimum of twenty ounces big. Thirty ounces, however, is considerably more common. This shows that your drink on it’s own will put dozens of ounces of sugar into your body as well as several thousand empty calories. Water, fruit juice and milk, conversely, are much better choices.

Logic claims that one the simplest way to stay healthy is to bypass the drive through and never eat fast food. While, for the most part, this is a good plan, if you make intelligent choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. At times the thing you need most is just to have another person do the cooking. When you choose wholesome menu items, you do not have to feel bad about visiting the drive through.
